From hobby to masterpiece.
In 2021 I went looking for artisan keycaps in India and found almost none. So I decided to make my own.
This is The Raze, my very first one. Hand-painted, a little wonky, and proof that everyone starts somewhere. (I know, katai zeher painting skills thi meri.)
It began with trial and error, and every attempt taught me something new. That first piece is now a reminder of how Wackeys came to life, and of how far it has come since.

It started small, but the dreams were big.

Learning to sculpt
Painting could only take me so far. So I started sculpting designs on the computer, getting every ridge and tooth right before anything touched resin.

The first small pieces
Tiny, fiddly and far from perfect. Each one taught me something about paint, resin and patience.
Fan piece, made for myself. Not for sale.

On my own keyboard
Bit by bit, my own keyboard filled up with caps I'd made myself. Every new one a little cleaner than the last.

A growing collection
A whole row of painted skulls, and the start of thinking in series rather than one-offs.
Early fan pieces, made for myself. Not for sale.

The side quest
Painting a controller stand was meant to be a quick detour. It turned into the best practice I ever had, and my keycap painting levelled up because of it.
Fan piece, made for myself. Not for sale.
